Christine Yin, Celeste Myall and Callie Hammond (l-r) perform at LaGrange Rotary Club

LSYOSE member performs at LaGrange Rotary

By Clark Johnson

Christine Yin was joined by her current violin teacher, Celeste Myall, and Callie Hammond, in a violin trio to play Mouret’s Rondo, [sometimes spelled Rondeau, we guess because he’s French.] Many probably recognized the piece as the theme from Masterpiece Theatre, but it was nice to hear the whole piece played for a change.

Often done by a whole group of instruments, these three violinists certainly performed it to perfection.  They received a very extended and enthusiastic round of applause.  Later in the program, young Christine performed a couple of solos on the piano including C. P. E. Bach’s Solfeggietto and a bagatelle, which garnered another rousing and appreciative applause in honor of her very precocious talents.
